New Samsung Galaxy Note To Support 450Mbit Cat. 9 LTE

A new Samsung Galaxy Note (essentially an upgraded Galaxy Note 4) is going to be released by the Korean electronics maker which will support much faster 4G LTE internet speeds.

The top model for “phablets” will include Tri-Band support via LTE Advanced which supports up to 450 mbits downstream. Many 4G LTE devices are currently category 4 which supports 150 mbits downstream and a small handful at now LTE category 6 devices which offer 300 mbits downstream.

Samsung fully expects that the Galaxy Note LTE-A version will offer speeds up to 50 percent faster than their 4G LTE model which includes the excellent Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 SoC. The lower powered Exynos-powered Galaxy Note will lag behind as the newer LTE-A model which will be up to 200 percent faster for web browsing and other online tasks.

Communication Networks Busy Upgrading

The current 4G LTE cellular networks around the world are either working on upgrading their speeds or planning it. It is expected that LTE category 9 cellphone networks will become more available in the latter part of 2015. The use of 4G LTE is exploding at the present time as is the data use which is a big profit center for the companies providing 4G networks if they can only keep up with the demand. This is the incentive behind their move to upgrade to LTE category 9 to cope with data and speed demands of all users.

Three Band Connections Simultaneously

The new Galaxy Note 4 LTE-A will be able to connect to three cellular network bands concurrently. This means that it can take two or 3 slower band connections and combine them into a faster overall internet user experience seamlessly. Therefore, even for users without access to a category 9 LTE network they could still benefit from the phone upgrade whlst also being future proofed as well.

Qualcomm Chipset

In keeping with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 SoC that was included with the top Samsung Galaxy Note 4 it is likely that the company will be retained to support the Galaxy Note 4 LTE-A model. Most likely the newer Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC will be included for faster speed to provide an additional incentive to buyers who would consider upgrading to the latest and greatest.

Samsung is yet to confirm the release date for the Galaxy Note 4 LTE-A.
