Women constitute the greatest part of consumers in all areas, but video gaming seems to ignore the fact, creating testosterone-driven games full of violence and terror. Ubisoft creates a fairytale princess that is beautiful, gentle and tiny, powered by strong spirit and a giant sword. Beautiful art combined with a compelling storyline will appeal to both masculine and feminine audiences.

Ubisoft releases and amazingly beautiful hand-painted role-playing game next month; Deluxe Edition and an exclusive poster from Final Fantasy artist Yoshitaka Amano available.

Ubi Art engine is in a way unique because it allows hand-painted art to be smoothly transferred into the game. The technology has tremendous potential and a large audience of gamers have been patiently waiting for the Child of Light, a fantasy adventure about a tiny fairy princess with a giant sword. The game can be played by a single player or in a cooperative two-player mode. We hear the word from Ubisoft that the Child of Light game will be released starting April 13, 2014 as a digital download for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and Windows PCs.

In addition, you will be able to enjoy the A2 poster created by the Japanese artist Yoshitaka Amano, famous by his art work in the Final Fantasy. The Deluxe Edition will also contain the 24 page art book with the artwork that was not included in the game and an awesome LED key ring shaped as the game character Igniculus.

The game will come at the $14.99 price tag and will be available as a digital download. The Deluxe Edition price is yet to be revealed; however, it is available for pre-order already.

Creative director of Child of Light, Patrick Plourde, is famous for its work on Assassin’s Creed II, Far Cry 3 and Rainbow Six: Vegas wanted to make a video game that would be less intimidating and more accessible than the games like Halo and Grand Theft Auto.

If you watch the trailer, you will definitely want to try out Child of Light. It is a beautifully painted watercolor starring Aurora, an Austrian duke’ s daughter, who got sick, but instead of dying she becomes a fairy princess in a fantasy world with a giant sword to help her get back her kingdom and defeat the mean Queen of Night. “She raised her sword and flew, for she feared not the race.”

It is quite an unusual release for Ubisoft, especially if you consider the team’s previous work, Far Cry 3, which offers far more brutal and bloody scenario, but the choice is absolutely deliberate because the team wanted to create something “soft, poetic and feminizing.” The ballad-verse format was inspired by the fairy tales and fable worlds, and the Ubi Art engine allows hand-painted artwork to be transferred into the game – epic experience that will appeal to the wider audiences of gamers, including its female half.

“We mentioned a young girl who could fly. Then I began development of her personality. Since all the dialogue in the game rhymes, I wanted her to speak using interesting diction, to have a broad lexicon. So, at that point, the daughter of the Duke from 1895 Austria came into the mix. She’s mischievous, but grounded in her time, restraint, but precautions, struggling to become something new. She’s classic, but evolving into something different. She has the aura of Jane Eyre as a young child: Jane at the beginning of the book,” said one of the developers about how this story evolved.

Finally, we see a heroine who is not sitting in the background and waiting to be rescued. The game presents the femininity, which is powerful and self-reliant. The gentle, yet strong female character who refuses to be subdued by those who want to crush her, and refuses to depend on anyone who wants to tell her how to live.

All in all, we expect this game to be staggeringly beautiful and meaningful title.
