Overview

SpyShelter offers powerful anti-keylogger and Firewall solutions to protect users’ personal and financial data from the increasing key logging cybercrime and camfecting. A keylogger can capture your keystrokes, screenshots of your monitor or sounds, get access to your most private data, such as user accounts, passwords and credit card information if you do online banking and shopping.

SpyShelter comes in three editions: free for personal use, but it doesn't work on 64-bit systems, premium for personal use and spy shelter firewall. It is one of the best standalone anti-keylogger software with multiple preventive modules ample for heavy online shopaholics.

Installation

Note in advance that the free edition does not run on 64-bit systems and the installer automatically suggests you download the trial premium edition. The trial version is valid during 14 days, but offers complete, fully-functional program for users to estimate. Overall, installation is clean and simple, and you can choose the level of protection, normal or strong. The program is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8 both 32 and 64 bit systems.

Features

SpyShelter personal free offers HIPS system protection, anti-key logging capabilities, and anti screen capture and anti-clipboard capture. SpyShelter premium offers, in addition to the above-mentioned features, a number of nifty protection tools, such as real-time keystroke encryption, anti-WebCam logger, anti-sound recorder, and 64-bit systems support. SpyShelter firewall additionally includes a firewall security and technical support.

Interface

SpyShelter has several modules: protection tab, rules tab, log tab, restricted apps tab, and settings tab. Overall, interface is not difficult to grasp, but it may take you some time to get adjusted to it. The innovative part of the program is the anti-sound module which protects your computer against Trojan loggers and sound capture VoIP malware. In the rules tab, users can allow, deny, check, add, edit or remove rules, as well as import or export rules for the program. You can also clean old rules for uninstalled programs and check all their components. The log tab displays all decisions made by the user or program. The restricted apps tab resembles in the way sandbox for restricted processes. Windows 8 is not fully supported for this feature. Keystroke encryption is available only for 64 bit systems. Settings tab offers some general and security settings.

SpyShelter is capable of detecting the most sophisticated keylogger malware, such as WebCam controllers, screen and sound captures, clipboard captures. It conveniently includes a keystroke encryptor and it can detect a key logging software intentionally installed on your PC.

Cons

The free version is not supported by 32-bit systems.

Keystrokes encryption is not supported in 32-bit systems.

Zemana Anti-Logger, KeyScrambler, Oxynger KeyShield, to name a few, because the increasing amount of keyloggers boost the market of anti-keylogger software.

Conclusion

Nowadays, no one can say for sure that he is safe against keyloggers. This kind of malware seems just too professional to be installed on any regular Internet user’s computer. However, keyloggers and WebCam controllers seem to be the easiest way to spy on your ex-spouse, and neighbor who got you mad or a colleague you want to be fired. Unfortunately, there is a large number of malicious software available on the Internet with unrestricted access, which means that virtually anybody can be an amateur spy.
