"The easiest FREE Windows PC backup software."
One way to keep your data safe is to create and maintain backups so that even in the worst situations, your files will still be secure. For this job you have many solutions, and AOMEI Data Backuper is one of them. With this free software you can create system/disk/partition backups and restore them at a later time, or clone disks and volumes. You can create incremental or differential backups that can be encrypted and compressed. These are just a few features of this relatively new program that is making a good start in the area of data backup software.
For a complete guide on how to use AOMEI Backupper, see our tutorial on How To Create A Complete Windows Backup Image.
Very easy and clean installation. In addition, it has no special requirements in order to work correctly. Supported operating systems are Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10. The Server Edition supports Windows Server 2008 R2 and Server 2012. It works with both 32 and 64-bit systems. 4K monitors are supported too.
AOMEI Backupper has a really modern, intuitive and friendly GUI that helps even a beginner carry out backup or restore tasks. On the main screen that appears when you launch the program you can see a list with all the backup jobs and a pane with 5 options located on the left hand side of the window. Those are: Home, Backup, Restore, Clone and Utilities. At the top there are a few more options, like Reload (for refreshing the status of your hard drives), Settings, Help and Freeware (which redirects you to the product’s website that lists freeware software by AOMEI).
Backupper comes with multiple language support: English, French (Français), German (Deutsch), Japanese (日本語), 简体ä¸æ–‡ (Simplified Chinese) and ç¹é«”ä¸æ–‡ (Traditional Chinese).
When you want to create a new backup you only have to make very few options. First you select the type of backup you want to perform (disk, partition or system backup) and then click “Start Backup” for the operation to begin. You can change the backup compression levels between “None”, “Normal” and “High”, add password protection and let Data Backuper split it automatically into multiple smaller files (or manually define a custom size if you wish). Another available setting is Intelligent Sector, which backups only the used sectors of file system instead of backing up all sectors of the disk/partition.
VSS (a backup technique provided by Microsoft) allows the program to backup applications that are already running without interrupting them. You can disable this feature, in which case Data Backuper will use its built-in technique.
A few extra utilities are included in the program, such as “Check Image”, which checks the integrity of a backup image, and “Explore Image”, which mounts the backup image to a virtual partition for the user to explore.
Supported storage devices are the ones recognized by Windows. This means that IDE, SATA, SCSI, SSD, USB external disks and RAID disks are all supported.
Can do Scheduled Backups with 4 backup schemes available: full backup, incremental backup, differential backup. The paid editions also do automatic space management by deleting older backup images according to your preferences.
Backupper can backup to Network Attached Storage (NAS), supports UEFI Boot & GPT, Dynamic Disk Volumes.
Windows PE bootable media supports EFI/UEFI boot. You can perform a system restore or system clone between GPT and MBR disks. Basically you can work between BIOS-based (MBR) disks and UEFI-based (GPT) disks, under Windows/Windows PE bootable environment and Linux.
The PXE boot tool supports deployment of a WIM image too.
You can backup logs, Export/Import all backup tasks as XML file, edit task name and change the saved backups images directory.
After a backup is completed, you can set Backupper to automatically perform one of the following: Restart, Sleep, or Hibernate.
Universal restore: this allows for a system backup image created on one PC to be restored on another PC with different/not-similar hardware.
We experienced no issues when using this product, and considering it’s a newcomer in this area, we are pretty sure that it has a bright future ahead of it.
Acronis True Image (paid), EASEUS Todo Backup (free) and Paragon Backup & Recovery (paid) are 3 great and well-respected backup software. They all have a long history behind them and are quite reliable, which is probably the reason why someone would prefer them over AOMEI Data Backuper. However for anything other than advanced backup and cloning tasks, DATA Backuper is just as good.
Easy to use program and enough features for the average user, without being too plain or too complex. That’s what AOMEI Data Backuper is, so make sure to try it out if you are in need of a reliable and helpful backup software.
