"Convert BAT files to .EXE format (bat to exe)"

Overview

Advanced BAT to EXE converter is a simple yet dynamic program that will convert any batch script to an executable in just a few simple steps. With the built-in editor you can edit your scripts before converting them, and afterwards encrypt the code so that no one can edit it after conversion. Within the converted .exe file you can include additional files such as images and sounds or even other executable files. These are just a few of this useful program’s key features.

Installation

Installation is very easy. All you have to do is follow the few steps and the installation will begin and will finish almost instantly. You can read the changelog in one of the steps for more information about changes in the new version and details about the current features.

It runs smoothly under any Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP, 2008, Vista and Win7 OS.

Interface

The interface is not very modern but it is uncluttered and easy to get used to. At the top is located a box with advanced commands that are not available in normal batch files. Before adding it to the editor you can view information about the selected command and edit it. You can close the Advanced Command wizard by clicking on the x button located at the top right corner of the box. The editor is located at the center of the window, and below is the area where a log is kept of all the actions that have taken place.

Pros

With the Advanced Command Wizard you can add commands into the editor that are not normally available in batch files.

There is a Graphic Wizard available for you to create your own graphics and include them in the batch file. Help and examples are available when using this wizard.

When you have finished coding and want to build the executable you have plenty of options: you can save it for use under Windows OS (with the option to include administration manifest and to start invisible) or MSDOS 6.0. Then you can add an icon for your .exe if you wish. If you want to make it more professional, there are textboxes in which you can add information about the file like version info, product name, description, company and copyright info. From the “Embed Files” tab you can embed files in your executable without restriction to the number of files you can add or their type. Lastly, if you want to protect your compiled files you can add a password so that the user will be prompted to enter it before executing the file.

Cons

There are no cons, as everything is working as it should be without problems.

Alternatives

ExeScript will convert any BAT, VBS, JS, WSH, WSF or HTA script into an executable file that doesn’t need any applications or external DLLs to run. Bat to Exe by f2ko is a BAT to EXE converter as well, and while it includes most of the functions Advanced BAT to EXE Converter has, it doesn’t have a Graphics Wizard and the Advanced Command Wizard. The same goes for ExeScript too.

Conclusion

This is a quality software with unique features and great usability that will help you a lot in converting any batch file to a stand-alone executable with ease.
