"Twitter on your desktop"
MetroTwit is a Metro UI styled multi-account Twitter application that can pull in Twitter content and let the user follow multiple accounts more easily. The style of the app is in the Windows 8 Metro UI layout which is varied depending on whether the user has a desktop or laptop machine, or a Windows 8 tablet. Add new tweets, retweet someone else's tweet or delete a tweet that is unfortunate. A modern looking app to let users get more out of Twitter if they do not wish to use the official Twitter app when accessing the Twitter service.
The installation process is simple. The software checks what components are needed and then goes ahead with the installation. Internet access is required to download certain parts of the software to complete the setup correctly.
MetroTwit is displayed in two different ways depending on your hardware and operating system. One is the MetroTwit for Desktop which runs on the Windows 8 Pro, Windows 7 or Vista operating systems. This has a main control panel down the left side, with three columns across the page for Friends, Mentions and a Company reference.
MetroTwit for Windows 8 tablets takes a little bit of a different approach to its layout with a slimmer icon-only menu down the left side and multiple columns with Timeline, Mentions and other Twitter account information following off the right side of the screen when viewing a Windows tablet in portrait orientation. The user can then scroll right to left to reveal more Twitter account and Twitter feed information.
Both interfaces use modern design principles, look clean with good use of color, and are easy to navigate. Ideal for beginners to Twitter and advanced users too.
