Grid Imp - imports gridded data into MS-MapPoint, to produce attractive data maps.

Can handle imperfect data, holes, re-gridding, etc. Can be used to import such attributes as pollution data, seismic hazard, geological information, customer/population distribution, etc.

Grid Imp is a software that allows you to import data and produce maps.

Various text formats supported using space, tab, or comma separators. Data must be addressed using longitude, latitude coordinates.

Features:

· Display data that is on gridded coordinates, rather than addresses or zip-codes.
· Add a greater range of attractive displays to MapPoint.
· Greater flexibility of colors than standard MapPoint maps and charts.
· Tolerance for missing data.
· Plot data at a different resolution to that of the input file.
· Plot data for any point in the World, unconstrained by the MapPoint edition being used.
· No need to upgrade from 2002: Works with both the 2002 and 2004 editions of MapPoint.
· Works with text files exported by Excel, Access, and many other applications.
· Data points are indexed by longitude and latitude coordinates - ie. as used by GPS systems and cartographers.
· Can re-grid data for a smoother display.
· Support for data holes: keep them or interpolate across them!
· Support for a variety of different text files including space, tab, and comma separated types.
· Polygon-reduction algorithm to speed MapPoint's rendering of the final display.
· Design and re-use your own colormaps.
· Walk-through tutorials.
