Instantbird is a multi-protocol immediate messenger (IM) app that is not dissimilar to Pidgin. Actually it uses the Mozilla engine to power its display and the same communication system as Pidgin to interact with numerous IM networks. With Instantbird you can talk with people on Yahoo, Google Talk, MSN, AIM, Twitter and Facebook. Add-ons are supported too, so the software can be extended in much the same way that add-ons extend the Mozilla Firefox browser. Each conversation gets its own tab, just like each web site gets its own tab in Firefox. The app is cross-platform, so it runs under Windows, OS X or Linux.
