"Fast and Secure Remote Control Software"

Overview

Radmin Remote Control is a secure way to access a PC a distance away over the internet and remotely control it. The software allows the user to connect to a second PC securely, see the desktop screen as the other user sees it, and manipulate the mouse and enter on their keyboard as if they are actually at the second physical location typing on the actual keyboard there.

The connection is made using 256-bit AES encryption to ensure that proper authentication processes are adhered to and that all data sent back and forth on this connection between PCs is being made in a safe manner so other people cannot intercept it and take over the PC. Both voice chat and texting by multiple users is included within the software which can allow two users to speak directly on general topics or in a computer support role.

There is also the option to remote shutdown or reboot the PC that the user is connected to in order to execute scheduled updates, complete a Windows Update process, and other useful tasks that one ideally would like to perform remotely.

Both Windows and Windows Server environments are supported.

Installation

The package comes in an archive which needs to be de-compressed. Several files are included such as the rserv35.msi file for the Radmin Server, rview35.msi for the Radmin Viewer, and a ReadMe text file to explain full details about each application.

Clicking on and running each .msi file will automatically run them and install the correct files to the target folder. No surprises here. Very straight forward to do.

Interface

The interface is actually different depending on whether you are using the viewer application or the server application, but with that said many of the features are the same.

The interface for the viewer is full of small toolbar icons which can take while to recognize and learn what each of them actually does. There is also a menu system which makes it easier to find out how to connect to another PC. The interface of the server has more options due to needing to execute more commands like a schedule reboot, but essentially once having learned one interface, the other will be obvious.

Pros

  • Remote control software for desktop and desktop / server
  • 256-bit AES encryption for connection
  • Remotely shutdown a PC
  • Transfer files between systems
  • Runs on Windows 8 or earlier (32-bit / 64-bit) or Windows Server 2012 (32-bit / 64-bit)

Cons

None.

Alternatives

You can give Ammyy Admin or TeamViewer a shot as well.

Conclusion

Radmin Remote Control is a good remote control application which is easy to understand and setup.
