"Monitor bandwidth usage and connection speed."
NetWorx is a useful web traffic viewer and network viewer which can help a Windows user determine what traffic is running over LAN or wireless network connections at any given time. Both the current traffic flow and historic traffic counters can be viewed. Speed meters can review actual speeds achieved. A bandwidth quota can also be set for people using 3G and 4G LTE wireless connections to match data packages purchased to usage patterns when a mobile device is tethered to a Windows PC to provide an internet connection. Wireless and LAN connections can also be monitored for bandwidth usage too.
During the installation, the user can decide whether to have the data usage graphic tool added to the Windows task bar so bandwidth can be actively viewed and monitored. The LAN traffic filtering driver can be selected between WFP implementation or TDI implementation (the latter is pre-selected as the recommended choice). Only 1.2 MB is used for this installation. No other software is added during the installation.
The interface for NetWorx consists of a toolbar and a system tray icon. Right-clicking on either will bring up the menu with a series of options. These include viewing the graph, accessing the speed meter, viewing the usage report, setting bandwidth quotes, and more. There are also tools to perform a trace root and to ping a server. Each major option opens up a new window with additional tabbed pages to access different collections of information. Uncluttered interface with simple design cues.
- Actively monitor web traffic and network traffic
- Configure different connection methods to isolate data usage for specific networks, cellular and other wireless connections
- View live traffic graph in real-time
- Set data limits to keep internet usage within accepted norms
- Trace root service included
- Ping service included
- Toolbar graph and network usage interaction
- Lightweight on system resources
Occasionally filtered network tracking gets confused about what network is transmitting what data when networks are briefly disconnected and then reconnected after internet interruption.
The IP Traffic Monitor can keep a close eye on what traffic is flowing over network communication lines.
NetWorx is an ideal solution for anyone who needs to monitor their bandwidth usage (particularly with expensive mobile data packages). Limits can be set for cellular or wireless access. A live usage chart can show what traffic is flowing downstream and upstream with kilobyte numbers indicated. A simple, elegant solution for multiple network monitoring for bandwidth usage.
