Overview
Vuze, formerly known as Azureus, is a popular BitTorrent client that facilitates the process of downloading and uploading files via the BitTorrent protocol. This powerful P2P file sharing software makes it easy to find, obtain, and share all kinds of files.
Installation
Although the file size is less than 10MB, allowing for a quick download, the installation process does present a few hurdles, with several requests to install third-party software. When checking the box to agree to the terms of usage you'll be asked if you want to install the Vuze Remote toolbar. Checking this box is not necessary for installation. After the installation the program will automatically launch an additional speed test component will be installed to help you test and optimize your downloading/uploading capabilities with Vuze.
Interface
The Vuze main interface is simplified by a left navigational pane that gives you easy access to a 'Getting Started' module, which helps you start finding and downloading content. Also in the left navigational pane are links to device playback options, your media library, RSS subscriptions, the Vuze HD network, Vuze Games, and your program notifications. The top toolbar contains self-explanatory icons that facilitate basic torrent actions like Download, Play, Launch, Up/Down Queue, Stop, Delete, and Change View.

The most notable alternatives to Vuze include Deluge, Transmission, and uTorrent. Of the aforementioned competitors, uTorrent is by far the most popular and feature-rich. However, Vuze contains more extra-curricular features than uTorrent, which does not support external device playback.
