"RTTY/NAVTEX/HF-FAX weather reports receiver"
SeaTTY is a bit of an old school application that can pull in weather reports, receive weather charts transmitted via shortwave and longwave bands, and also receive navigational warnings too. The transmissions that are fully understood include RTTY, HF-FAX (also known as WEFAX), and NAVTEX. The SeaTTY softare can also decode GMDSS DSC (both VHF and HF) messages which is also useful. The NOAA weather radio can be received including the SAME voice messages complete with digital headers and these can be saved. A receiver is needed, plus a sound card for audio output. The equipment is tested when the software is installed to ensure the system has the right hardware to run the software properly.
