"Versatile all-purpose burning software"

Overview

Has Nero found a worthy competitor? It certainly seems so! Ashampoo Burning Studio is a feature packed CD/DVD burning software offering full support for HD and Full HD video. By using all the latest formats, you can easily create video and audio discs.

What is more, excellent authoring capabilities are implemented as well as an audio player, CD/DVD ripping and a lot more. The 10-day trial software is a great way to get started with Ashampoo Burning Studio. Let’s analyze its features in this quick article and decide if Ashampoo Burning Studio is as effective as its presentation sheet makes it out to be.

Installation

Keep in mind that the 10-day trial offered by the developer can be extended with 30 additional days if you register on Ashampoo’s official site. In terms of system requirements, you must have Windows XP, Vista or 7 and at least 64MB RAM. During the installation process, you must pay attention, as you have to decide whether you want to install Ashampoo’s toolbar. After you download and install it, running the utility is a piece of cake as everything is nice and smooth!

Interface

A single menu is featured in the center by the main window that appears as soon as you launch the program and by clicking it, you will be able to gain quick access to all of its functions. Novice users will have no reason to worry about it as the interface is intuitive and comes with options that explain what the individual features do. In addition, there are also plenty of wizards that can help you along the way together with well-organized documentation. The placement of the controls and buttons allows for a smooth navigation that you will surely enjoy!

Pros

Ashampoo Burning Studio is a very fast piece of software and you will have no problems with burning either normal discs, audio CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray discs. DVD and Blu-ray™ video discs are created with the integrated editor that allows you to automatically generate a menu or create it yourself.

A different theme and background music can be used by each menu page. You can see exactly how your disc will turn out and play thanks to the preview player! Auto-starting discs without menus can also be created. In addition, songs and CDS can be played through the built-in audio player.

Ashampoo Burning Studio can be used in order to rip music as well as create backups by copying discs. Thus, a restore is just a click away!

Cons

Unfortunately, Ashampoo Burning Studio doesn’t have support for AVCHD. Let’s hope a future version will manage to fix this issue.

Alternatives

There are a lot of burning tools on the market. Let’s have a look at some of the alternatives to Ashampoo Burning Studio. These include the following tools: ImgBurn, Nero Burning ROM, DVD Flick, BurnAware Free or Pro, DeepBurner and many more.

Conclusion

All in all, if AVCHD support isn’t on your mind, then Ashampoo Burning Studio will surely satisfy all your burning needs. We highly recommend it!

Exceptionally effective program for use with CD's, DVD's, and Blue-rays only.

Ashampoo Burning Studio 22 and previous versions work for CD's, DVD's, and Blue-rays but they FAIL to provide USB flash drive support. CD's, dvd's, and Blue-rays are fast becoming antiquated and are not being used by people, but are using USB flash drives instead. It's time for Ashampoo to support today's and future use of USB flash drives.
Pros
Exceptionally effective program for use with CD's, DVD's, and Blue-rays only. Ashampoo does NOT provide free upgrades to future versions. Users of a specific version must purchase an other upgraded version if they want to upgrade their current version.
