"Visual audio editor and converter software."
AudioEdit Deluxe is a visual audio editor and conversion software solution that's designed to save you time. One of the greatest features of this software is the ability to convert sound files into multiple file formats. You can choose from lots of different sound file formats, and that's ideal for professionals who want a simple solution to file format conversions.
With this software, you can play, record, and save audio files according to your preferences, add effects like echo, distortion, and fade in/out, and more. And there's even a 15 day free trial of the full version so you can fully test it and see if it's appropriate for you.
Installation of AudioEdit Deluxe is simple and straightforward. There isn't any adware or spyware included in the program, so you get a clean install of the demo. This software is compatible with Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows NT, and Windows XP.
There's no special requirements needed to get this software to work, we just wish they would come out with new versions that work better with XP. The current version is a little "buggy".
The interface of the program shows you a visual depiction of the audio file graphically. Of course, you hear the file playing if you choose to load one into the player, and then you get the choice of how you want to save the file. You can record your own sound files easily, and you can even add effects like distortion and echo on the fly. It's pretty easy to get the hang of using this program, and beginners will be sure to like the ease of use.
All the features of the program are accessible from the drop down menu boxes, and you'll also find that some of the most popular options can be selected with graphical buttons on the main program window.

Audacity - This is another great sound editing software that allows you to save audio files in multiple file formats. While it doesn't have as many file formats as AudioEdit Deluxe, it features all the most commonly used ones. The full version is totally free to download and use, and there's never any registration cost ever! Audacity might just be what you're looking for if freeware software is your goal.
WavePad - With the ability to save audio files in over 40 different file formats and more than 1,000 included sound effects, this is one audio editing suite that you won't soon forget. The full version is affordable, and you'll be hard-pressed to find a better audio editing program available currently. The ease of use is easy for beginners to get the hang of, yet advanced enough to satisfy the needs of more experienced sound enthusiasts.
We really like AudioEdit Deluxe because of the number of supported file conversion types. It's also decent as a sound recorder. Typically, most people will be using this software to convert audio files into various formats. AudioEdit Deluxe is very small in file size and doesn't use a lot of CPU or RAM resources. The 15 day free trial is a nice touch, although we would have liked to have longer to evaluate the program than that. All in all, this is an effective audio editor/conversion software that can bridge the gap and allow you to convert your files.
