"Synchronize and backup your bookmarks."
Xmarks for Firefox was one of the first bookmark managers that used the cloud to store a record of the bookmarks (or Favorites) in the Firefox browser. Originally the Firefox add-on was called Foxmarks, but due to its popularity it went cross-platform and was renamed Xmarks. More recently, the company behind Xmarks was acquired by LastPass who develop one of the leading password cloud-backed add-ons. Once you have created an account with Xmarks, this can be used across multiple platforms and devices. Backup bookmarks, restore them to a new browser installation, share your bookmarks with others, create separate syncing profiles and view a history of bookmarks saved to the cloud (only available in Firefox). For times when you don't have access to your Xmarks via a browser add-on, you can also log into the web site to view your bookmarks in any web browser. You are now also able to save your open tabs within a multi-tab browser too.
Xmarks for Firefox Key Features:
- Cloud-saved browser bookmarks
- Cloud-saved open tabs list
- Restore bookmarks from the cloud
- Merge existing bookmarks with those saved in the cloud
For easy access to your web bookmarks anywhere and to ensure you never lose them, the free Xmarks browser add-on is essential.
