Overview

All kinds of software exist, and as weird as it may sound, Planetary Aspects and Transits is a software used by astrologists, providing valuable information regarding planetary aspects. Many options are available to the user, such as the preferred zodiac, aspect orbs and other display settings. You can also check the personal transits and synastry for two birthdates. All graphs (world transits, natal charts, synastry etc.) can be saved as PNG images for future reference.

Installation

There is nothing special in this program’s installation. Just run the installer, follow the instructions and then wait for the process to finish. The program doesn’t contain any additional software or malicious items.

Interface

The program is divided into two main parts; one for entering dates and making options, and one for viewing graphical charts and tables. Pros

All you have to do is enter the current date and a birthdate. The information will then be displayed in the appropriate parts of the window. You can optionally enter a second birthdate for viewing the synastry between two people. A graphical chart and a table are shown with the planetary aspects, which can be changed to show World transits, Natal aspects for the first birthdate, Personal transits for the first birthdate, Natal aspects for the second birthdate, Personal transits for the second birthdate and Synastry. You can also save those charts as PNG files as well.

Configurations of the program include changing between Tropical and Sidereal zodiac, selecting orbs for world transits and natal aspects, displaying North American timezones and others.

Saving the current state of the program with all the configured settings and dates is possible, so you can restore it at a later time.

This software is available in both German and English.

Cons

It is not a program directed towards inexperienced users and astrologists. It should be used by professionals due to its complexity. In addition, there is space only for one save state. Previous save states are overwritten when creating new save states. Additional comment from the author: There's also a "Save as ..." button, which allows you to save the state to a file with a name of your choice. This file can then be re-loaded later.

Alternatives

StarLove (free) is an alternative for people who want to calculate the compatibility between two people using astrological methods, just by entering their birthdates. It is far simpler and generalized than Planetary Aspects and Transits as it shows only very basic information.
