JPG Recovery is a specialized photo recovery tool that focuses exclusively on JPEG files, the most common format for digital cameras and mobile devices. Instead of relying solely on the file allocation table (which may be damaged or missing), JPG Recovery scans storage media for JPEG file signatures — the unique byte sequences that mark the start and end of every JPEG file. This approach recovers photos even from formatted drives where the file system is completely gone. A thumbnail preview window lets you see recovered images before choosing which ones to save, allowing you to filter irrelevant results efficiently. Partial file reconstruction attempts to salvage corrupted or partially overwritten JPEG files that other tools would skip. Works with all camera memory cards, USB drives, hard drives, and SSDs.
