Short description

Maxtor Powermax is a hard drive utility to perform reading and writing checks on Maxtor branded and Quantum branded hard drives. The hard drives should be checked in this way on a regular basis to see if their integrity is still in tact or if the drive is experiencing problems. Bad clusters and bad sectors can be detected with the scan. Partition and formatting issues can also be spotted. If a hard drive cannot be recognized by a Windows operating system then this package may be able to help to determine why this is the case. The package cannot assess drives that are part of a RAID disk array.
