@MAX SyncUp 6.3.700
Review & Alternatives
"Remote sync, feature-rich backup, and more!"
@MAX SyncUp is a file syncing utility that can will backup data from the present location to hard drives, FTP servers, SFTP servers, NAS network drives, WebDAV servers, and Google Drive cloud accounts. The synchronization can help to mirror the files from one location to the other in order to provide a periodic backup in case a hard drive fails suddenly.
Directly connect two computers over distant locations across the internet. Using a security algorithm that will reduce the transfer requirements by only transferring the parts of files that have altered since the last syncing operation as completed.
Bi-directional synchronization is used to ensure that all changes are updates in both directly and obsolete files are no longer present in either storage location. Make hard links for backups that make incremental backups as useful as full ones
Review the files being synced and make changes to whether they'll be synced in real-time. Browse the contents of any archive, perform searches across archived, pick files and then restore them either to a new location or back to their original location. Multiple versions of a single file can also be kept to provide a type of version history too. The software runs as a Windows service which enabled it to keep executing even when the user is presently logged off.
First the license agreement has to be agreed t. The application requires 8.3 MB of free space to fully install. A suggested install folder is shown or the user can make their own selection. A Start menu item is then listed. The application then offer to launch when it is fully installed.
The interface is pretty slick with subtle toolbar buttons that are more in keeping with an iOS application than a Windows one. The main screen breaks down to the toolbar, the type of backup being performed, the storage options available, source paths, and file filter. The user is updated with a progress bar and textual information during a backup procedure.
The toolbar lacks labels, so a little hovering over and tapping the buttons will be needed to be clear on their exact purpose.
- Create file backups by synchronizing files to a hard drive, NAS drive, FTP/SFTP server or WebDAV server
- Backup to the cloud using Google Drive
- Backups can be set to run automatically
- Transfers only the parts of each file that has been altered since the last synchronization
- Slightly confusing interface which will take time to learn properly.
@MAX SyncUp is an effective way to synchronize files to drives, across a network, on to FTP servers and into the Google Drive cloud.
