The quiz designer will have no trouble at all creating a quiz, thanks to the customizable and user-friendly interface.
The installation procedure consists of 3 steps only, and there you don’t have to make any configurations in any of them. Main installation might take a while before it finishes, but it’s nothing too time consuming. It is also clean from any kind of malware and spyware, and doesn’t include any additional components, like toolbars or 3rd party software.
This program can run under any Windows 2000, XP, 2003, Vista or 7 OS, with 1GB recommended amount of RAM.
When you launch the program a window with a plain grey background will open that has three categories. First one is for creating a new quiz, the middle one is for quick access of recent quizzes and the last one is for helpful links. To start making your quiz simply click on the first category’s button and the editor will appear where you will be adding your questions and settings the answers. At the bottom you can find some options, like adding or removing scores in the questions and inserting media (sounds, images or flash videos) in the quiz. By clicking on the “Design” tab at the top you can preview your quiz and change its appearance from there.
It is ideal for teachers and tutors, because the quiz can hold many types of questions: True or False, Single Answer, Multiple Answers, Word Bank, Drag and Drop Matching/Ordering or Fill in the Blank. For every question you can select and amount of points given for the correct answer, so that in the end you can see how well the student did. You can customize the appearance of the quiz and add images or sounds, and even insert flash videos. In addition, you can change the layout and the properties of the labels, as well as add effects and animations.
When you finish you can save your quiz and store the results each time someone takes it.
It needs a bit of improvement in the user interface, because at the moment it looks a bit outdated. Some more colors and graphics would help make it more modern.
Wondershare QuizCreator is a desktop application that you can use to create quizzes. Features include 18 answer types, Time Limit and Randomizing questions. Question Writer is another quiz maker, which has support for online results tracking.
While it has many useful features and is not very hard to use, it might seem a bit overpriced from regular user’s point of view. But it is worth trying out because there’s a big chance it really suits your needs.
