"A feature-rich astrology software for Win."
Astrolog32 includes all the tools one needs in order to start learning or practise astrology. These includes charts, transits, progressions, planet orbits and many more features that provide all the information and details a professional astrologer needs.
The first step is to install Astrolog32, so download the setup package and run it. A message will appear asking you to select the language you want to use throughout the installation, so pick your preferred one and continue. The installation wizard will come up next, which will ask you to accept the Terms of Service, select installation folder, etc. Continue until you reach the main installation step, after the completion of which you will be able to use the program.
No malicious stuff has been detected in the program (viruses, spyware, etc.) so you can rest assured that it’s not going to harm your computer.
Astrolog32 can run under any version of Windows.
The first time you run the program, a notice will appear telling you that there’s no configuration file, thus you need to create one. Follow the steps and adjust the required settings, in order to get to the main window.
Once you have finished creating the configuration file, you can see the main window. In the center there’s the zodiac circle, and on the right hand side of the window is a sidebar with several information (named below). At the top is the menu bar, where you can find a lot of options regarding the program’s view and functionality.
The configuration file that is included in the program has quite a lot of parameters that you can adjust so as to make a profile as complete as possible. More specifically, you need to select your region (American, European, Indian), choose whether summer time is active, your time zone, longitude, latitude, location, as well as whether you want to run the program in Simplified mode (for beginners) or in Advanced mode (for more experienced users).
Astrolog32 can display the positions of many stars and planets, including the positions of Sun through Pluto, Chiron and the 4 main asteroids, Lilith, the eight Uranian planets, and also the positions of over 40 fixed stars and 170 Arabic parts along with their formulas.
In addition, the program has various computation features, such as 14 house systems, tropical and sidereal zodiac, heliocentric and other planet-centered charts, harmonic charts, decan positions, positions relative to ecliptic or equator, and others.
Other kinds of features include many display formats (wheel charts, local horizon positions, times of planets rising and setting, solar system orbit charts, gauguelin sector charts, ephemeris tables, etc.), transit and progression features (secondary progressions and solar arc progressions, times of exact aspects among transiting planets, times of planets changing sign or direction, times of solar, lunar and other returns, etc.) and many, many others.
From a more technical aspect, the program has multi-language support, custom font support and custom time/date format. In addition, charts and chart times/positions can be saved to files in order to be loaded in the future.
The program has been discontinued for quite a while now, with its predecessor being StarFisher.
Other software for learning and practicing astrology are Paint Astro Q2 (freemium), Solar Fire (paid), ZET (freemium) and Win*Star (paid).
Even though Astrolog32 is outdated and discontinued, it still has an extended functionality which can prove to be very helpful to those who are willing to have fun with astrology.
