Krylack Archive Password Recovery is a Windows tool that helps you regain access to your own password-protected archives when the password has been lost or forgotten, across ZIP, RAR and 7-Zip in a single edition. It is the right choice when you deal with more than one archive type, or you are not sure which format your file is. It detects the format and its encryption automatically, so you can just open the file and start. How quickly a password is recovered depends far more on the format and the password than on anything else: legacy ZipCrypto is fast to search, while WinZip AES, RAR3, RAR5 and 7-Zip all use deliberately slow key derivation, so strong passwords take much longer and a GPU makes a real difference. It tries the most likely candidates first, so short and human-chosen passwords are very recoverable; a long, truly random password on one of the modern AES-based formats is the hard case that no recovery tool can promise to solve, met with GPU acceleration and the Smart and dictionary methods. Dictionary, Smart (mask and pattern) and brute-force methods are available for every format. It runs entirely on your own PC, so your files never leave your computer. It is for recovering passwords to archives you own or are authorized to open. A one-time purchase includes a perpetual license and free updates within the edition.
