"Manage your agenda, contacts and much more!"
ABIX is a personal organizer that aims to help people house and organize all their information under the same roof. Its features make it stand out and allow it to be more capable than your run of the mill organizer. In fact, it can even be used to manage a small enterprise or business due to its finance and inventory management features.
Installing ABIX is very routine and should be complete in a couple of seconds. The software itself supports all versions of Windows from 95 onwards, including Windows XP, Vista and 7.
The interface ABIX uses is very intuitive and easy to grasp. When you first launch the software you will be greeted by the 'Dashboard' that lists all upcoming events and tasks that need your attention.
Near the top of the screen you'll find a two rows of buttons that correspond to the features of the organizer. Clicking on any of them will open that respective window (or cause it to appear in front of other windows if it is already open).
Although the interface is generally clean, as you click on the main navigation buttons and open more windows you'll notice that new windows overlap the old ones. Eventually this can make things appear more cluttered but all you need to do is close any windows that you're not using to get rid of them.
The main strength that ABIX has going for it is the fact that it has a wide array of features, including options to manage your agenda, tasks, contacts, inventory, budget, and notes - all of which are unfettered, even in the free trial.
Even that is just the tip of the iceberg however as ABIX also comes with the ability to create custom tables to organize additional information, store birthday and anniversary details, keep a secure password list, and calculate loan repayments too.
In short, this software has everything that you would possibly need to keep track of what's going on, what you need to do, your finances, and your inventory. If you like you can even backup your data and secure ABIX with a password for safety reasons.
One especially nice touch is that if or when you purchase the ABIX license it comes with free updates for a year. Each of these updates can be installed while still preserving your data from the previous version.
To be entirely honest there are no real downsides to ABIX. It is a stable software that does exactly what it claims to be able to do without any hiccups.
On the personal organizer front there are numerous alternatives, one of the most popular probably being Microsoft Outlook. Apart from that there are other software such as OrganizeME, WinPIM, and EssentialPIM that also boast numerous additional features (in some cases even more than ABIX).
No doubt about it - ABIX is a very impressive and capable personal organizer that even small businesses can benefit from. That being said, there are other alternatives out there that are similar in nature and personal preference will have a part to play in deciding which one is right for you.
