Do NOT us this software
by dwall22 on 17 Jan 2017
Rating: (Bad) for version 15.92

I work in a small office with one server and five work stations. WinPIM seemed like the perfect program for us, since we did not need any fancy bells or whistles, and it was an economical choice. For the first year, it performed well within our expectations. We were pleased. After a year had passed, we began getting pop-ups every time we opened the program urging us to upgrade. We did not want to upgrade. The program worked fine for us as it was. These popups would accumulate, one every 20 seconds or so, and you could not close out the program until you had closed out each individual pop-up. This went on for two months until we came in on a Monday morning to find the entire program had gone haywire. The program had been uninstalled on two separate workstations and the server. We reinstalled and it worked for approximately ten minutes and locked up. It then started spreading to other work stations. The actual database was intact, only the program was behaving erratically. It was almost like a planned cyber attack. We called in an IT expert who thoroughly examined every workstation and the server and determined there was nothing wrong with any of our equipment, and there were no other errors in compatibility with any other programs. His diagnosis: It appeared that the company who sold WinPIM was attempting to force us to upgrade by causing the program to go haywire. The upgrade was far more expensive than the initial program. Guess what? We will be deleting this program and going with a more reputable company.
Having your entire office turned upside down by a disreputable software company.
