Personal Informer is a whole service, rather than just a program. It offers you an ingenious way of creating your own home page, filling it with various links, news, information and gadgets - anything you may find useful. Whether you begin your browsing with reading the latest news, visiting a set of specific pages, or taking a look at the current stock indexes, Personal Informer will make the required information easily viewable from a single web page. Your personal home page will maintain two differently arranged lists of your favorite web sites, offer you the most recent headlines, financial reports and even a weather forecast, and each of its items will be customized based on your current location and present activities, so that the page always remains relevant.

The downloadable Wizard will assist you in creating and customizing your personal home page. When launched, it will allow you to enter some basic information about yourself, such as your name, your current location and the preferred language, so as to make the page as effective as possible. Then, you will be presented with a list of your most visited pages and bookmarks, for you to check the links that you want to be displayed on your home page. If you like, you can also make Personal Informer attempt to extract news feeds from the provided links, or specify the desired RSS feeds manually. Thereupon, your page is absolutely ready to use.

Just open your web browser and you will see your links neatly organized under your favorite search engine's interface, complemented with the latest headlines, a handy weather report, present exchange rates and major stock indexes. You can actually choose what currencies and stock symbols should be monitored, what search engine you normally use, and even the units you would like the current temperature to be displayed in - hence, your home page always remains personal and homelike indeed.
