"Create and compare checksums"
Abylon FREEHASH is a freeware utility for creating and comparing MD5 checksums. MD5 is a hash value that is created which allows someone to validate whether a downloaded file has been successfully completed or has perhaps been corrupted in some manner. This software can take a downloaded file and compare it against a MD5 checksum provided by the supplier of the downloaded file. Alternatively, you can generate your own MD5 checksum for a file you're about to distribute. The software is free and validated to work with Windows XP and Windows 2000. It may also work with more recent versions of Windows either out of the box or with the file compatibility mode set for Windows XP.
