"Mirekusoft Install Monitor"
To get the most out of your computer’s capabilities you need to maintain both its hardware parts and software. For the hardware you just need to clean it once in a while and remove the dust that gets piled up on top of the system’s parts, plus make sure the cooling system works correctly; on the other hand, to properly maintain your computer’s software you need to use various tools quite often. Mirekusoft Install Monitor 2 will help you with this task by allowing you to completely remove unwanted programs from your system, stop processes from running at start-up and also figure out how certain applications were installed and whether you need them or not.
Install Monitor needs 3 additional components in order for it to get installed; these are Visual C++ Redistributable libraries, SQL Server Compact Edition and Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 (or higher). If you don’t have them, the installer will automatically download and install them. Apart from this process (which isn’t difficult, but time-consuming), the rest of the installation is straightforward and has no weird settings.
No kinds of malware (viruses, trojans, spyware, etc.) are included in the setup package and no advertised software is installed along with the main program either.
Supported operating systems are Windows XP (32-bit), Vista, 7 and 8 (32/64-bit).
The program’s interface is tidy and has no big buttons that take up space and clutter the screen. It has a search bar at the top of the window for searching for installed programs, and below it is the toolbar with several small buttons. In the middle part of the window you can see a list of all installed programs and information about each one (publisher, date installed, size, etc.). There are 3 buttons at the bottom of the window, and by clicking on each one you can change the window’s view to display installed software, registry keys and files created from a particular program, and a list of processes that start an application at start-up.
On the right side of the window is a sidebar that shows information about a selected program and general tips.
The first time you open the program you should click the “Scan now” button in the message that is displayed below the toolbar, in order for Install Monitor to scan your system in-depth and gather information about installed programs (this might take a while). Afterwards you can select any installed software and see exactly which items were created in the system because of it. More advanced users can use this information to modify or remove unwanted elements from their system.
When you uninstall programs, they leave leftovers and useless files that only take up space and slow down your computer. Install Monitor records every change happening to the computer when a program is installed, so that when you remove it, Install Monitor will also remove the leftovers and traces it left.
The Program Tree is a feature that lets you view in groups which programs were installed together. So if for example you find a program in your computer that you don’t know how it got installed, just look for in the Program Tree to see which software you installed brought it.
You can also view currently running processes in the Program Process Viewer, and see which process use most CPU and RAM.
No cons here, as the program has many features and works well.
There are other alternatives for you to try out if you’re not satisfied with Mirekusoft Install Monitor, with the most known ones being Revo Uninstaller (freemium), Geek Uninstaller (freemium), Ashampoo Uninstaller (paid) and IObit Uninstaller (free).
If you want to be aware of any installed software and the changes they make to your system, then Mirekusoft Install Monitor 2 is what you need. It is lightweight, fully-featured and can really help keep your PC in shape by removing junk items, fixing program errors caused by incomplete/corrupted uninstallations and freeing up space.
