"Advanced Windows Repair Tool."
Your computer needs regular maintenance more than anything, so it’s highly recommended to have a program installed that will scan and fix system errors in your system, delete junk files and overall keep it in good health. But some system cleaners target a more experienced audience, indirectly prohibiting the inexperienced users from using them. WinSysClean X4 is not this kind of software; on the contrary, it is designed to help less confident users clean and optimize their computers without messing with advanced or risky settings.
The setup procedure isn’t much different than any other normal program’s installation, although the wizard’s interface is quite unique. You won’t come across any difficult settings whatsoever, but you will have to click Next a few times before the main installation process begins. It will take only a short amount of time to finish and it won’t install any additional software like toolbars or malicious items (e.g. trojans, viruses, etc.).
The program can run smoothly under any Windows XP, 2003 Server, 2008 Server, Vista, 7 and 8 (32 and 64-bit systems compatible).
The program’s interface is modern and although crowded, it’s still easy to get used to. There is a pane on the left hand side with 4 categories and several subcategories in each one: Cleaner (System Status, File & Disk Cleaner, Windows Options, Applications, Registry), Internet (Internet Browsers, Instant Messengers), System monitor (CPU Monitor, Memory Monitor, Disk Monitor, Services Monitor, Drivers Monitor) and Windows Tuning (Desktop Tuning, Repair IE Favorites, Desktop Shortcuts). The contents of the main screen change according to the selected category menu. At the bottom is a bar with several buttons regarding program settings and additional functions. To begin the cleaning process, click on the “Start” button located on the bottom right corner of the window.
The optimization process of your computer will be performed with only a single click! Simply click on the “Start” button and you can watch the status of the computer’s cleaning process. When the task is complete you can see the results, including a Registry Report, Files Report and Total Disk Space Recovered with a few more bits of information. For further details you can click on the Log icon on the bottom left corner to open WSC’s log file using an external text editor. If you’re satisfied with the results, there is a “Like” button too; click on it if you want to share the program with your Facebook friends.
If you think that there are no settings to be configured in order to make the scan more precise or broad, you’re definitely wrong. You can set the program to delete (or keep) Documents History from the Start menu, Invalid Desktop Shortcuts, Recycle Bin items, Temporary items, Windows Hotfix uninstall files, log files, Windows Remote Cache files, Windows Memory Dump files, Windows Error Reporting files, Invalid Shell extensions icon and many other items. In addition, WSC can clean data from other applications as well; for example, it can delete Adobe Bridge CS3/CS4 cache, Apple Installer cache, iTunes Album/Artwork cache and Google Earth cache.
Regarding Registry settings, the program can delete invalid COM/OLE/ActiveX entries, invalid Application Paths, invalid Font entries, invalid Shared DLL entries, invalid Shell MUI cache, etc.
WSC supports cleaning the following browsers: Internet Explorer, Mozilla FireFox, Opera, Safari and Google Chrome. If you also have Yahoo Messenger and/or Skype installed, their cache files, logs, messages and calls can be deleted too.
And if that’s not enough for you, WSC has a set of diagnostic tools to help you check the status of your CPU, Memory and Hard Disks.
Once you’re done with optimizing your PC, you can start tweaking its appearance using the implemented tools.
There are no cons here.
An alternative that shares a big amount of features with WSC X4 is TuneUp Utilities (paid). It has 1-Click Optimization function, individual cleaning tools, appearance tweaks and a lot more features. Make sure to try it out if you need an advanced system optimization suite. CCleaner (free) is a more approachable choice since it is more lightweight but covers a wide range of cleaning options.
Very trustworthy software, suitable for both novices and experts.
