"Startup Delayer gives you the power to o..."
Startup Delayer is a software utility created for computers with less horsepower under the hood or for those with an excessive amount of applications in the startup list. The developer understands that in certain situations, applications need to remain on the startup list even though they are not always needed immediately after the computer is turned on. As a consequence, the Startup Delayer program comes in to save the day by allowing users to specify which programs should be started immediately after booting and which ones can wait until the RAM memory and the processor are less busy.
Startup Delayer has been designed in compatibility with operating systems from Windows XP to Windows 7 and the installation kit is relatively small, meaning 6.71MB in its current version. Users are not confronted with any difficulties when installing it, other than specifying the path and agreeing to the terms and conditions. There are no other bars or application bundles with Startup Delayer to be aware of and the kit will inform you that a restore point is being created. So, let’s move on to the interface.
The window of this software utility is rather self-explanatory and it only takes a couple of minutes to understand all its functionality features. At first glance, it resembles the task manager, as the upper section allows users to display the startup applications, currently running tasks and the system services. The bar directly underneath it shows the user who is currently logged on, permits integrating additional startup applications and creating specialized profiles in terms of what applications should be delayed after the booting.
Moreover, the tools button can be used to create backup points and restore them in case something goes wrong. The main window displays the list of startup applications, which can be sorted, based on name, order of delay, status or their exclusive affinity with a certain user. To apply the delay, users can either opt for the automatic approach, which is set to 30% CPU idle by default, or make the changes manually and select the actual time delay in hours, minutes and seconds.
Startup Delayer integrates an ingenious concept that permits users to keep their startup application list intact while minimizing the impact of an extended number of applications on the performance of the system. Moreover, its comprehensible and automated features do not recommend this utility only for advanced computer operators, but also for the average Joe. In addition to delaying the startup time for different programs, the program also allows the manually addition of extra applications to the list.
Some options of Startup Delayer are only available in the premium version.
Startup Delayer puts users in charge of their startup without forcing them to give up useful applications in order to achieve peak performance. Delaying the start of a program until the point where the computer is able to handle it without slowing down significantly is nothing short of a stroke of genius!
