"SlimCleaner Free optimizes PC performance."
The use of cloud services has become so common that all modern software integrate it into their features in one way or another. A perfect example is SlimCleaner, which would normally seem like a typical PC cleaning software, but taking a second look at it reveals a rare feature that uses feedback from the cloud in order to recommend optimal settings for your computer. If you’re a fan of cloud-based software, then SlimCleaner won’t disappoint you.
The initial setup package you download at first isn’t the original installer and when you run it you’ll see that it will download the components of the main application first and then continue with the installation process. You don’t have to make any settings throughout the procedure.
SlimeCleaner is free of malware and additional 3rd party items - see report.
Supported operating systems are Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8.
The program has a really intuitive and modern interface that relies on 3D graphics to attract the user (and succeeds). At the top left corner is the logo of SLimWare Utilities, next to which is the toolbar containing 4 items (Login, Settings, Update and Help) along with a separate Facebook “Like” button. Moving on to the main part of the window, you can see a vertical panel on the left side with several items: Cleaner, Optimize, Software, Browsers, Disk Tools, Windows Tools and Hijack log. Depending on which one is selected, the contents of the central area change accordingly. At the bottom left corner is a block with a little bit of information regarding your system’s specs.
SlimCleaner includes all the necessary tools a user needs to clean, optimize and maintain his computer. The list begins with the Cleaner, which scans the system and cleans it from unwanted system, application, browser and registry files, and then continues with the Optimizer; this tool displays a list of all startup programs/services and uses its cloud powers to gather ratings and information as well as give you recommendations about them. The same goes for the Software uninstaller, a feature that will certainly help you take a decision on whether to keep certain programs or remove them. An extra feature of the Software uninstaller is that it can show you which of the installed programs have available updates and lets you update them. Another tool for a different part of the computer is the Browsers tool. This one will show you useful information about each of your browsers (extensions, plugins, etc.) and again using the cloud will advise you appropriately. The Disk Tools allow you to securely shred files, wipe disks, defrag disks and find duplicate files. Last but not least, the Windows Tools are built-in Windows features which can be found organized in one place.
The usefulness of this program, apart from its tools, lies mostly within its cloud features that give users the opportunity to see how others think of the programs and services in your computer. In fact, everyone can participate in this by uploading his own ratings and comments.
No cons here.
