LT Technology the developers do offer an application for hard drive data recovery called FileRecovery which provides the same function as RescuePRO only for internal storage devices.

The interface is a bit blocky and bland. It can look to be more like a free to use application or one that was built in the Windows XP days. The interface is clean and easy to use though with options to “Recover Photos”, “Recover Audio/Video”, “Recover Files”, “Backup Media”, and “Wipe Media” each option will bring you to an easy wizard-like menu that will walk you through the steps to perform the chosen function.
- Recovers a large range of removable storage devices

When you start looking into applications that offer data recovery you’ll find many applications out there. Data recovery for removable media can be a bit more scarce though. SanDisk offers SanDisk Removable Media Data Recovery which is a free windows application, it offers a smaller compatibility range, but may be a good alternative for recover data off commonly used devises such as thumb drives and SD cards. There is also Data Doctor Recovery Removable Media which also a good recovery application for your removable devices. It may not hold quite the compatibility list that RescuePRO does, but it’s a good alternative. Data Doctor Recovery Removable Media is also free to download.
Even though with my experience with RescuePRO I encountered some issues accessing my removable media I found it to be a good application for someone who works with several different types of removable media. If you’re hosting several different kinds of Digital Camera or HD Video type cards RescuePRO may be your best option. If you’re looking for a simple data recovery tool for your SD Cards and Flash drives laying around the house it may be a good idea to try some of the free software first and see if you have any success with one of those.
