"A free hard disk partitioning tool."
Partition Logic is a utility that allows you to divide your hard drive up by creating one or more partitions that will each have their own drive letter identification and be treated as separate within the file system. Partition Logic comes with a GNU General Public License as it is free software. It uses the Visopsys operating system and is run by installing the software on a DVD/CD or other storage medium that your BIOS can be set to boot-up from. Therefore, the software is its own operating system in affect, rather than needing Windows to operate. Regular hard drive formats can be partitioned, though SCSI drives are presently not compatible and nor are Linux- or Unix-based partition tables. Therefore, this partition utility is really only for Windows users. Beyond creating, editing, renaming or deleting partitions, the software lets you safely re-sized partitions too.
Partition Logic Key Features:
- Partition non-SCSI drives that work with Windows
- Create, edit, re-size, rename and delete partitions
- Does not support SCSI drives at this time
- Does not support Linux- and Unix-based partition types
- US English and UK English keyboard layout support
Partition Logic is a good free alternative to expensive partition packages that you need but seldom have cause to use.
