Everest has been called the easiest to use program that can tell you every single thing about your PC hardware. The best part is, it's a totally freeware program that never costs anything to own and use.

Installation of Everest Home Edition is super fast and simple. The file size of the program is quite small, so you won't have to worry about having a fast PC with lots of RAM to run it. This software is compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista, WIndows 7, and Windows 8. It doesn't come bundled with any adware/spyware, so you don't have to worry about that. 

Interface:

The interface of Everest Home Edition is one of the things that make it so special. With just a few mouse clicks, you can zero in on all of your PC hardware information. You'll find that working with Everest to view system details and run diagnostics is easy as 1-2-3. With this program, you can even print a copy of your system information quickly and easily. This is great for professionals that need to make copies for clients. System Spec has a great interface too, and it's a great alternative to Everest Home Edition. It runs without having to install anything through the included EXE file. 

SIW - System Information for Windows - This program offers you all the information about your PC that Everest does, only as reported by actual users, it provides ADDITIONAL information too. The author's website says "Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Your Computer And More"! They aren't kidding! This software provides tons of PC information with an easy to navigate front end. 

Conclusion:

Even though the program is now discontinued, Everest Home Edition is still a major part of many PC people's lives. To date, it's one of the most comprehensive programs in terms of the information it offers to you about your PC and its associated hardware. Whatever information you need to find about your PC and the hardware you have installed, you can accomplish it with Everest Home Edition. Everest is by far one of the most popular and well liked PC diagnostic and system information tools ever created.

What's new in this version: Lavalys has discontinued the free edition. This is unsupported.
