MirrorFolder is a backup mirroring software package designed to provide a second copy of a live folder. The software works in real-time using a RAID-1 type approach which mirrors the exact contents of a folder, folders or a whole drive over to another local, network or removable drive. Both opened and locked files like an Outlook PST file can be mirrored regardless of its status. Synchronization can be performed in real-time or a set times. The process can be in one direction or bi-directional depending on the needs of the user. The risk with a disk mirror is that a corrupted file will then be copied over to both drives, therefore there is still a need for periodic backups.
