"Check CMOS for corruption and restore it."
CMOSSave/CMOSRest is a package to backup the current settings in the CMOS which tells the computer what components it has and their appropriate settings. These are setup by the PC manufacturer but can be lost due to a power surge, CMOS battery failure or other sudden stoppage which causes the information to be lost. The CMOSRest package can allow two CMOS settings to be created and it is then possible to swap between them. The software is designed to work fully with DOS and Windows 3.x, 95, 98, ME or IBM OS/2. It only partially works with Windows NT, 2000, XT, Vista and 7. Therefore, it is best to only use the first set of compatible operating systems. The CMOS is a delicate area of any PC, so use with caution.
