"It blocks "known bad" computers."

PeerBlock has been designed to protect your privacy. Using it, your computer will be locked when someone tries to connect to it from a “known bad” location, which may include automated advertising or malware bots, programs intended to monitor your peer to peer communication. You can also block computers taken over by hackers or even all the connections from a particular country, if you desire so.

Here’s a list of features:

  • Block all potential troublesome or dangerous connections to your computer
  • You can make quick selections to tell the software what you want to block (spyware, ads, P2P programs that monitor what you do, etc) and you can also import your own lists
  • The interface is very simple, it’s pretty much a guarantee you won’t get lost in it; it has two important tabs: Settings & Protection
  • The list of threats is continuously updated
  • Although it runs in the background and you don’t actually see what it does, you can rest assured it does its job very well and all the “known bad” connections are refused on autopilot

Install PeerBlock if you want some peace of mind while you’re using P2P programs and also get rid of annoying ads automatically.
