"Convert Images quick and easy."
How many times have you got frustrated because a program or an online service doesn’t accept an image you want to use/upload, simply because it isn’t the correct type? Picture Dude Image Converter is a recommended tool for this job, allowing you to quickly converter between various image file formats. And while you’re at it, you can also resize or crop the imported images, remove red-eyes, add one of the many special effects or add a watermark to protect them from unauthorized use.
The whole installation process consists of only a few steps and lasts just a few moments. If you’re wondering how safe the installation package is, then don’t worry because it’s completely clean from any sort of malware and spyware. In addition, no extra 3rd party software is included either.
Supported operating systems are all Windows versions.
The program has a very modern and straightforward interface that you instantly become familiar with it. It is mostly black and yellow and has a cartoon-ish style, mainly because of the peculiar font used. At the top of the main window you can see a profile selection drop-down menu, in case you want to use one of the preconfigured profiles. Just below that menu you can see in which of the three steps you are in (File, Edit and Target). This means that the whole from start to end has three steps: the file(s) selection step, the editing step and the finally the step where you choose the output file format, name and directory.
When importing a photo to Picture Dude Image Converter, you have plenty of options regarding its manipulation; you can resize/crop the image, rotate it, adjust brightness, contrast, saturation and gamma levels, add effects (black & white, sepia, watercolor, sketch, glass, emboss, engrave, contour, blur sharpen, pixelize, etc.) or even add a text watermark with the font, size, color and position of your choice. When you’re done editing the image you can choose the desired output file format. The supported types are .bmp, .exr, .gif, .ico, .j2k, .jpg, .pbm, .pdf, .png, .tga, .tif, .wbmp, .wmf and .xpm. Depending on which one you select you can make a couple of settings as well, such as adjust the quality percentage (for .jpg images) or change colormode.
Before proceeding to the actual conversion task you may also choose the output filename and what the program should do if that filename already exists (overwrite or rename). Pick the directory you want to save the converted file, click start and the operation will start.
You can save a profile with all the settings you have made and use it in the future so that you won’t have to configure those settings again.
Compared to other image converters, this one consumes a bit more resources than normally due to its animated graphics.
Totally reliable software that can easily convert your images and let you edit them using essential tools that you find in any kind of image editing program. It gets a 5-star rating from us.
