"An open-source application."
If you use an audio editing program such as Audacity, you may have noticed that you are not able to export files to MP3 format. Fortunately, this problem can easily be remedied by installing the LAME mp3-encoder utility. You are able to download the encoder by itself, or download LameXP, which offers a GUI for editing the encoder settings. Either way, it's completely free to download and use, and by far the easiest way to export audio files to MP3 with Audacity or other similar software. LameXP offers a very familiar interface, very much reminiscent of Windows XP (hence the name).
Key Features of LameXP:
- Allows users to export audio files to MP3 using programs like Audacity
- Very easy to install and implement on your system, offers a GUI to customize settings
- Completely free to download and use as encoder only or bundled with the GUI
- Works with Windows Operating Systems
