"Digital audio recording and editing software."
Total Recorder Editor Pro is the premium version of this digital audio editing and recording application.
There are many tools, effects and audio processes that can be applied to get more out of existing audio streams and to improve them. Record, edit, encode and produce a final master of digital audio required for podcasts, pre-recorded radio shows, and video audio streams.
Sound can be recorded live from a variety of sources. This can be a video playing on a web page, a DVD, a digital video file, TV or internet radio station. The audio recording can then be edited once it has been recorded.
The audio effects include fade outs and fade ins to gradually blend the audio to make it less jolting and smoother for the listener. Audio levels can be normalized throughout a recording – or a series of recordings – in order to get a steady audio level rather than one that has the listener reaching frequently for their volume control to adjust the sound level up or down during the listening experience.
Full cut, copy, paste and editing functions are available for the audio stream. Anchors with labels and grouping audio into regions is possible. Markers can be added to audio to enable fast editing jumps between locations. Audio artifacts like click and crackle sounds from vinyl recordings can be edited out. A noise filter is available for cassette tape audio which has been recorded. There is also a multi-band equalizer which can help to change the sound levels for different audio channels to bring audio back into balance and serve to emphasize certain aspects of a recording.
Audio codecs from a variety of sources are fully supported. The audio codec processing engine is also quick to respond in order to make the editing experience flawless. Audio can be saved in a number of digital formats including WAV, WMA, OGG and MP3. Burn a CD or DVD of the final master recording. Edit meta information with the ID3 tag editor. Convert video recordings between formats and for different screen resolutions.
The installation proceeded normally. There were no extras with Total Recorder Editor Pro.
The software requires Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 or 10 Technical Preview
The interface is pretty detailed with extensive toolbars buttons that when selected change the display in the rest of the application window. There is an effects windows on the left pane with a selectable list of options to apply to an audio recording. The waveform and audio stream is displayed in the main pane with playback and recording controls situated near the bottom of the application window.
The interface is a “busy” one but that is to be expected with any kind of editor.
