"An audio player designed for GNU/Linux."
Decibel Audio Player for Linux is a GTK open-source project from a French developer. This is good to see as there are a limited range of quality music players for Linux (Amarok comes to mind). Decibel is only in the early post-release stage, so it is not as fully featured as some other players that have been in development for years. The software is not looking to provide full integrated tag support to let people edit the ID3 tags for their music and audio collection; specialist software is recommended for that purpose. The interface looks clean in Ubuntu Linux, light grey with a pleasing layout. Folders for music albums are showed on the left side with the album song list shown on the right side. Playback controls, album artwork and volume bar are displayed above the playlist. There are also shuffle and repeat buttons below the playlist. Simple but effective.
Decibel Audio Player for Linux Key Features:
- Basic but effective Linux audio player
- Show albums, songs and artwork in one simple screen
- Shuffle or repeat songs
- No complex tagging support presently
Decibel Audio Player for Linux is a new, early development audio player for Ubuntu and other Linux-based distributions.
