"A media player based on BMP and XMMS."

If you're looking for a fork of beep-media-player, why not give Audacious for Linux a try? This fork was made to fix some minor issues such as quirks with the ID3v2 tag handling, lack of streaming functionality, and a preference in design. It's not that beep media player is a bad program, there are just a few things that the developers of Audacious felt needed to be adjusted in order to open up the program a bit more. Audacious is completely free to download, and very easy to integrate with your beep media player program. Of course, a Linux Operating System is required, as well as beep media player in order to run Audacious.
