"Drive your truck across Europe!"
Euro Truck Simulator by SCS Software offers a realistic and addictive experience. The truck simulator is not just engaging; it is also rewarding and surprisingly relaxing. The game offers complete immersion in its environment. There is a whole world to explore - realistic, colorful, detailed. The amount of cargo to deliver is unlimited. You get to manage an entire trucking business, so you can customize trucks, send your drivers on scheduled trips, expand your career. Without much ado, Euro Truck Simulator takes the simulation standard to a new dimension. Quality is supreme here, making it an excellent purchase.
We have already praised SCS Software for Bus Driver. It appears the Czechs have more aces up their sleeve. The Euro Truck game offers a vast array of content to explore and enjoy, so it never gets boring or repetitive. The visuals are supreme, boasting realistic European landscapes. In fact, Euro Truck Simulator takes you on a journey through 60 European cities from UK and Belgium to Germany and Holland. Sheffield to Prague, Rome to Berlin to Madrid - the number of possible routes is large.
Besides truck driving, the player has to hire employees, purchase garages and trucks, upgrade and tune them. You will have to take on a few quick gigs before you can start your own business, though. Such quick jobs require the driver to deliver a cargo to a particular destination within a given timeframe. You earn money for jobs, and later on you generate enough funds to purchase your own truck. When the truck is your own, you can customize it.
The download is somewhat lengthy, so we recommend you choose to download a torrent. The free demo version is unlimited in time you can play, but some modules and areas are restricted. It is highly recommended you try the demo version first to make sure the game runs smoothly on your PC. Installation wizard is simple and straightforward.
The game is available in English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Italiano, Nederlands and Português.
Euro Truck Simulator features detailed truck tune up and design based on real truck models. Even the truck interiors are thoroughly detailed leaving nothing to scrutinize. Flashing indicators, mirror views, several cameras with different angles, wipers, fuel warning lights, all gauges including speedometer add to the incredibly realistic feel of the game. You can zoom in all directions, switch between several camera views. You even have a NavSat GPS to guide you.
It is apparently a game for adults - there is a challenge, there is a task to perform, a business to manage, a cargo to deliver. You take pleasure in exploring new roads and surroundings. There is a simple, yet insistent economic factor at the game’s core. You learn as you play gaining experience, skills, generating revenue and building your own trucking business. The detailing goes as far as gaining points for excellent gas management, or hauling fragile cargo. Cargo comes in a wide variety from equipment to frozen foodstuffs, so every cargo has different handling mechanisms.
Truck dealerships are abundant in trucks, parts, cosmetic items. You can customize and fine tune your truck in the smallest details - engine, exhaust pipes, painting, lights. The trucks come in a great variety, too. MAN, Renault, Scania, Globe Trotter are the most famous among them.
The sounds and visual details of the settings are believable and sophisticated. You can even turn on the radio and marvel at how radio stations change as you cross countries.
It takes time for beginners to get used to controls and understand how the truck reacts. You can find yourself bumping into things because you need to figure out how hard or soft you should press the arrow keys to make the heavy thing move the direction you want.
There seems to be no way of changing your mission after you took one. At some point, you realize you no longer enjoy the road, or would like to try a different mission with different settings, or you are just too lame to visit the mechanic and repair the damage done. Lame users, like myself, prefer to restart the game and choose another mission, which seems impossible with Truck Simulator.
Sometimes, visuals get not so detailed especially as you drive in rural regions further away from Central Europe. Maybe because trucks drive highways, there is not much to look out for on some of them - trees, tunnels and road signs.
AlternativesBus Driver by the same SCS Software is also a highly detailed driving simulator that engages from the first moment you launch it.
