"A complete DataBase Management tool"

Managing a database is quite a challenging task. To manipulate its data you often need to look into various tables and run complex queries, only to perform actions that could be approached easier if you just used Data Management Center. This professional software will give you the power to clone, import, export, convert, backup and compare databases, as well as let you work with tables and their contents. Supported formats include SQL, MySQL, Oracle, CSV, DAT, XLS, XML and many others.

A few steps into the installation procedure you will be prompted to enter your Username and Serial number in order to register the product. If you want to evaluate the program by using the trial version, leave the default values in the text fields. The same goes for the next step where you’re asked to enter similar information. A couple of steps afterwards you’ll prompted to select UAC option (NON UAC Compatible or UAC compatible- the first option is recommended). The last settings you have to make is configure file associations for DMC (TPS, DAT, DBF) and the main installation process will begin right after that step.

DMC is clean from malware and any other kind of additional software.

Supported operating systems are Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7, 8, 2003 & R2, 2008 & R2 and 2012.

At the top of the window is the menu bar, the toolbar and the information bar. The main area of the window is split into the navigation SOURCE, where you can view and manage your tables, and the frame DROP region, where the tables’ contents will be shown.

The status bar at the bottom has useful information such as your license level, subscription expiry center, memory used and available memory.

DMC’s Viewer Mode visualizes the data from your tables, lets you hide/unhide certain columns, export data into CSV, XML, HTML, PDF, XLS, Word and Excel, locate and edit values in the table, add/delete records, visualize the table’s structure and basically perform actions to your tables’ contents.

Regarding databases and their tables, you can transfer data between tables, clone tables, backup databases, access your databases/tables and execute queries from a fully-featured SQL Query Editor, create a new table from a text file, compare structures or two or more tables and create profiles that hold all the details when you want to clone tables/transfer data. You can also convert a Clarion Dictionary and Application to various SQL types.

The creation wizard will help you create a new SQL database or TPS table easily.

Quite a lot of databases are supported: Oracle, SQL Server, IBM DB2 UDB, Sybase ASE, MySQL, Mimer, PostgreSQL and others.

The demo version has a “nag screen”, which appears when you try to perform an action and stays for a few seconds before it disappears.

One of the most known database management software is Microsoft Office Access (paid), but it doesn't have many of DMC’s features and is designed mostly for viewing and editing data from tables. Other software in this category are Sesame Database Manager (paid) and HSQLDB (free).

Data Management Center, having a plethora of features and an easy to use interface, is one of the best software in the area of database management.
