"Utility that optimizes the work with a mouse"

Overview

Mouse Hunter has a very simple purpose: it allows you to scroll more objects than you are able to scroll with Windows’ normal scrolling function. With it you can scroll objects that are not activated, unlike normally where you have to activate an object first to scroll it. Although tiny, it can be of great help virtually anywhere.

Installation

Very quick and easy installation. Just follow the few steps and in a few moments the program will be ready. The installation package is very small and doesn’t include any additional software, or even spyware/malware. When installation finishes you will be asked if you want to join the mailing list. If you accept you will be receiving a couple of emails every week that inform you of new versions of programs, plugins, articles etc.

The program can run smoothly in any Windows 2000, XP, Vista or 7 OS.

Interface

The first time that you open the program, the configuration window will appear and let you make some settings of how you want the program to work. It also has an area with advertisements of other Aml products. Other than this window there is no other interface for the Mouse Hunter.

Pros

Scrolling becomes way easier with Mouse Hunter. Normally, the item that is scrolled is the element that is selected. However, with Mouse Hunter the element that is scrolled is not the active object, but the object below the mouse cursor.

There are some settings that you can fiddle around with. For example, you can choose to start Mouse Hunter with Windows or start it disabled. Also you can set it to scroll horizontally if the Left, Right, Shift or Control buttons is pressed.

You can easily translate this program into any language just by opening a particular file into a text editor and translating all strings.

Cons

There are a few grammar and syntax mistakes, both seen in the product and its website.

Alternatives

There aren’t many alternatives for this type of application, but WizMouse is one you'll want to check out as well.

Conclusion

There aren’t many things to consider about Mouse Hunter. It’s a nice enhancement for Windows that can be quite useful in many occasions and won’t be troublesome at all since it can easily be disabled and enabled again. If you feel this could be of use to you, then don’t hesitate to grab it.
