Since 1981, the "Starting and Operating a Business in...." book series, has been the standard tax/legal/practical guide to starting a business in any of the 50 states or D.C., until the print version ceased publication in 2003, and it was used as the standard reference in SBA offices in every state. The new electronic editions for all 50 states and D.C. have been FULLY REVISED AND UPDATED IN 2010 and 2011. EACH INCLUDES NEW FEDERAL TAX LEGISLATION and other 2010-11 law changes.

The prior print editions of this book series were chosen by Inc. Magazine in a cover article as one of the 6 'Best of the Best' small business guidebooks available, and Forbes Magazine, after an exhaustive analysis of over 200 small business guides, concluded that almost none of them were worth the paper they were printed on, but singled out the 'Starting and Operating a Business' series as one of only 4 such books that they could recommend to small business owners.
