Top iOS and Android Games This Summer, June Edition Continued

by Chrisanna Lazaridou on 20 July 2015 · 2137 views

Although we are in the middle of July right now and many new games are constantly released, it would be unfair not making a list with the games that marked the beginning of summer with their unique elements and style. At first we created this list for that reason, but eventually we decided to expand it in the current article since there were so many more additional games we wanted to share with you. Gathering the best among them was not an easy task but I believe we did a decent job picking the finest ones. So, let’s begin (or better yet, continue) the list with the top iOS and Android games of this June!

As always, the list begins with the freemium games and ends with the paid games.

1. Fallout Shelter (iOS, Android ver. coming soon) by Bethesda

Fallout ShelterIntroductions are unnecessary for Fallout Shelter after its massive success last month and the surprise announcement rgarding its release during E3. Much like the rest Fallout games, the app version also takes place in a post-apocalyptic future where the Earth has become a huge wasteland after a massive nuclear accident. Your role as an overseer is to build the perfect vault, gather people and appoint each to the right job, create a thriving community and keep your Dwellers happy and productive at all times. The graphics and designs are unlike anything you experienced on mobile gaming before, as expected from Bethesda. Fallout Shelter is an addiction that you will find really hard to resist.

2. Blades of Brim (iOS, Android ver. coming soon) by SYBO

Blades of BrimBlades of Brim is an endless runner brought to us by the developers of the highly successful Subway Surfers and offers many more stuff than its older cousin. In Blades of Brim you play as a young knight who goes on a quest to save his kingdom Brim which is under siege by invading underling goons. In your adventure you also have the help of other characters and magical pets! What mainly separates Blades of Brim from other endless runners is that it adds actual combat to the formula. While it’s still a runner at its core, this surprise creates a whole new experience for the player and without noticing you’ll forget you’re even playing an endless runner. It is a captivating, addicting, and an all-around magical game with unique elements that place it at the top of the endless runner games list.

3. Siegefall (iOS, Android) by Gameloft

SiegefallSiegefall is a base-building combat strategy game developed by Gameloft and was announced during E3. Your goal is to control your army consisting legions of specialized troops, including sneaky rogues, horrifying trolls, and knights and conquer as many regions as you can. Similarly to Clash of Clans as you may have noticed, it is important to create a strategy plan that will allow you to break through the enemies' defences and be victorious. You can also challenge other players and fight against them to destroy their army and castle. Despite the similarities with Clash of Clans, Siegefall is its own thing and strategy genre lovers will have a new addiction and addition to their favorite game genre list.

4. Lara Croft: Relic Run (iOS, Android) by SQUARE ENIX INC

Lara Croft: Relic RunTomb Raider is one of those franchises that never gets old. In Lara Croft: Relic Run you can enjoy Lara in crazy adventures and performing amazing stunts in your smartphone. Relic Run is, as the title suggests, an endless runner in which Lara finds herself among ruins in a tropical setting with many traps set not only by ancient civilizations to protect their secrets but by nature's forces as well. To make matters worse, lizard people attack you from time to time and you have to aim really well to take out as many as possible. Even the iconic boss from earlier games, the T-Rex makes an appearance and heats up the experience. Definitely a must for tomb raider fans and not!

5. Xenowerk (iOS, Android) by Pixelbite, $1.99

XenowerkXenowerk is a dual-stick shooter game that takes place in space. After a scientific experiment that went wrong, a mutant infestation breaks out and now it’s your job to eliminate all mutants that are hiding in an underground lab. Xenowerk challenges your combat skills and reflexes in a great 3D shooter that although might seem repetitive it serves its purpose to the maximum. It brings out the fun of shooter games to its fullest and to be honest, I’ve never had so much fun with such a game. The 3D graphics are also pleasant and make the shooting against mutated bugs experience even more exciting.

6. Transistor (iOS) by Supergiant Games, LLC, $9.99

TransistorOne of the best surprises of this month is the iOS release of the amazing RPG game Transistor that graces other platforms such as the PS4. Brought to us by the creators of Bastion, Transistor tells the story of Red, a singer fighting with a mysterious sword in a futuristic city. It is a story-driven RPG with gorgeous graphics and a great battle system. The iOS version is certainly living up to the expectations and leaves little to be desired from the player whether they’ve played Transistor in another platform or not. It might seem a bit expensive for a game app but it is totally worth the price.

7. Heroes and Castles 2 (iOS, Android) by Foursaken Media, Free & Paid ver. $1.99

Heroes and Castles 2Heroes and Castles 2 is a 3rd person action-RPG, strategy, and castle defense game that promises great battles and conquering. You can summon armies of various kinds (Elves, Dwarves, Knights, Mages and many more) in order to fight alongside you and earn you your victory. Forming teams with friends in online battles is also possible, as well as fighting against other players to make things even more challenging. Certainly a must for strategy game lovers and you can always try the free version first before deciding whether you want to purchase the full game.
