3 medium Game Review Dive into the beautiful world of BLYSSMinimalistic games are very much loved in the smartphones’ game community and for a very good reason so. They are easy to grasp, require the minimum amount of time to learn the rules, and the simplest controls. They are perfect for killing some time with and can prove to be very calming and stress-relieving. Such is the case with the game we’ll be reviewing today, Blyss, which as the name suggests, will offer quite a blissful experience to the players.

Gameplay

In Blyss you have to eliminate all the dots that appear inside the tiles by swiping towards any direction. Your movements won’t always be a straight line, as you’ll have to perform various combos with different types of shapes. However, you can only eliminate 3 or 4 tiles per swipe so you need to be careful when you plan your moves so as not to end up with tiles that can’t be swiped. In that case it is game over and you’ll have to start over. The tiles can have one or more dots in them and with each swipe only one set will be eliminated. If, for example, you come across a row of tiles with 2 dots each and swipe once, only one dot from every tile will disappear. As you can imagine, things will get tougher the more you advance and level up.

The game gives you a set of goal to complete, e.g. to reach level x without losing. By completing levels successfully you gain points that you can then use either to unlock modes or to buy your way out of a failed level and move to the next without having to repeat everything from the beginning. You can also do that after a game over by choosing the option to watch an ad.

There are available modes in Blyss, two of which are locked. The mode you can play in at first is the Endless mode in which you have to clear as many levels as possible without fail. The unlockable modes are the Time Attack mode and the Playground. In Time Attack you must clear each level before the timer runs out and in the Playground you can choose the difficulty level and how many dots you want to have. You need 100 points to unlock each mode and apart from collecting them in-game you can also be rewarded some by watching game ads through the main menu.

The game provides an IAP option to purchase coin bundles with prices that range from $1.19 to $5.49. Normally, you don’t need to buy coins because they are available in-game and through the ads, but if you want to buy an expensive theme, then the IAP will come in handy.

Graphics & Sounds

You can also choose among a large variety of themes based on the seasons and more. Each theme costs a different amount of coins and has its own BG music. They are all beautiful to look at and very calming in both terms of appearance and music. I can honestly just stare at the screen without playing and even if I lose, the frustration is easily subsided by the serenity that accompanies the game.

Conclusion

Blyss is a game that will easily grab your attention and will offer you not only an interesting gameplay but also a very sweet feeling inside. With its simplicity and minimalistic approach it will certainly stay with you for a long time. Let us know your thoughts and impressions in the comments below.
