"Powerful 3D Modeling and Rendering Software."

Overview

RaySupreme is a 3D-modelling software with tons of features and functions that would make many popular professional 3D utilities jealous. What’s unique about this program is that it uses text commands to create 3D models and scenes, a relatively new technology. The program, with its built-in tools, will get you started in 3D-modelling.

Installation

The setup package is about 100MB big, so make sure you have a fast internet connection or use a download manager to grab it. Anyways, there’s nothing difficult in the installation of this program; in fact, it only has 3 steps and none of them has any difficult settings. The main installation process will take a few minutes before it’s finished. No additional 3rd party components are installed during the procedure, and the installer is clean from malware.

Supported operating systems are Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8 (32/64-bits compatible). There’s a version available for Mac users as well.

Interface

First-timers will probably be greeted with a message that asks them to install the Object, Material and Language extensions by clicking a button in the toolbar. Do that before you get started in order to have everything you need to work.

The rich and warm interface will attract you in many ways, since it does a very good job organizing everything in it. The menu bar contains both menu tabs and buttons, all of which are used for many different actions. The four cameras are in the center of the window, which can give you a better idea of the 3D-world when creating scenes and objects. On the left side is a sidebar with some tools, whilst on the right side is another sidebar with many buttons that change the contents of the boxes next to it.

Pros

The main feature of this program is an intuitive method of playing with 3D-modelling, by using text commands. Some may think that it’s like programming, but it’s even easier. You can just say “An armchair” and watch the armchair appear in the scene. Think it’s awesome? Me too. Of course you can still do everything the old-fashioned way, which is the case if you don’t want to spend time learning the new way of modeling.

The customizable viewport-based user interface makes it easy to use the program, but that’s a feature that shouldn’t be missing of course. Something that’s not found in other 3D programs is the huge database of objects, materials and Text-to-3D extensions with free and unlimited downloads that gets updated regularly.

The detailed documentation is all a user needs to learn how to use RaySupreme. It explains in detail everything, with examples and easy to understand language.

Cons

It would sometimes crash when importing objects.

Alternatives

Autodesk 3Ds Max (paid) is one of the most well-known programs when it comes to 3D modeling. It is designed particularly for professionals, hence its high price. Blender (free) is another 3D software which is a top program as well and has a significant advantage to Autodesk 3Ds Max: it’s open-source software.

Conclusion

If you want to start learning 3D-modelling, then this program can be your first step in this journey.
