MacHider is a privacy app for Mac OS X which integrates neatly with the Finder function to hide files or folders that you wish to be hidden. The contextual menu from within Finder makes it easy to select files and then opt to hide them. Organize files and folders into their own groups in order to keep them in some kind of order. The “Open Recent” list is also culled of any files that were recently opened but subsequently hidden using MacHider. This way, this option doesn't give away the existence of the file accidentally. Requires OS X 10.6.6 or later.
