"Convert videos to all popular formats"
There are too many video conversion software in the net. This means that there are more chances you’ll find the right program for you, but only if you do some digging first. We’ll try to simplify this job a bit by providing a review for GiliSoft Video Converter, an all-in-one converter that can prove to be very helpful in most (if not all) occasions. It can convert between plenty of video formats, like AVI, MKV, FLV, 3GP, OGG, etc. and also give you the power to cut/trim parts of your video, add watermark, subtitles and perform actions that you don’t easily find in other software of this kind.
Installation is pretty straightforward and the instructions are clear. Even novices will find it easy to install the software since it doesn’t have any difficult steps with advanced settings. If the program is already installed in your computer and you’re just updating to a newer version you can check the option in the last step of the installation which clears any existing configurations.
No additional 3rd party software or malware is installed along with Video Converter.
Supported operating systems are Windows 2000, XP, Server 2003, Server 2008, Vista, 7 and 8 (32 and 64-bit).
The program has a very stylish interface. Its toolbar buttons (Add Files, Cut, Crop, Effect, Watermark, Subtitle and Rotation) have small icons next to them in order to make the interface more attractive. The middle part of the window has the list of files to be converted on the left hand side and information regarding them, whilst on the right hand side is the preview screen. From the lower part of the window you can choose output format and directory, adjust a couple of settings, open the Output Settings window or start the conversion process.
There are countless profiles that you can use instead of configuring manually the settings for playback of the converted video on a particular device. This means that if you want to convert videos and watch them in your iPod, iPad, iPhone, mobile phone, media player, PS3, Wii or another device, then you just have to find it in the list of output formats. Of course, this doesn’t mean that you can’t just convert videos to common audio/video formats like AVI, MP4, MPG, MKV, MOV, AC3, MP3, WMA and WAV. For every profile you can manually change video quality, resolution, audio quality and channels.
The most recent version of Gilisoft Video Converter (v7.5.0) introduces a new feature, which allows the user to convert flash animation (SWF files) to video.
Editing the videos you add is possible as well. Not only you can cut, crop and rotate your video, but you can add effects to it too, including black and white, embossment, posterize, glow, haze, mosaic, negative, motion blur and others. And if you feel like it, add a watermark of your choice on the vid. But there’s more to it; you can also embed subtitles in your files too! Just browse for the subtitles file, adjust its position in the video, choose font style and you’re done.
No cons here.
